Oil painting on canvas, A Unknown Young Man in a Silver-white Coat, English School, circa 1740-50, formerly attributed to Francis Cotes. A head-and-shoulders portrait in a painted ornamental oval of a young man wearig anembroidered waistcoat, white stock, short grey wig tied behind with a black bow.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Edgar Graham Lister (1873 – 1956) with the house and collection of furniture in 1956.
