Summary
Oil painting on canvas laid down on hardboard, Clotworthy Lenox (after 1707-1785), British (English) School, mid 18th century. A painted oval half-length portrait of a young man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, his left hand tucked into his waistcoat, wearing a blue coat, red waistcoat, white linen stock and short powdered wig. One of a pair, with NT 216373.
Provenance
Purchased by National Trust in 1957 from William Lowry Lenox-Conyngham (1903–1957), shortly before his death, along with the other contents of Springhill
