Summary description

Oil painting on canvas, The Origin of Music by Robert William Buss (London 1804 – Camden 1875), 1845. One of a pair; Buss was commissioned by the 4th Earl of Hardwicke to paint the two lunettes left blank by Soane.


Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
