Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady by John Hoppner, RA (London 1758 – London 1810). A three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman in front of a tree set in a landscape, looks to her right. She is wearing a white dress with black girdle and red wrap. Fair hair down her back, one lock over left shoulder. Framed in gilt gesso frame with leaf tendril design and heavy scroll corners.
Provenance
Gifted to the National Trust by Sir Felix and Lady Elizabeth Brunner, along with Greys Court House and Estate, 1969.
