Summary
Staffordshire flatback model of highwayman Richard (Dick) Turpin (1706-1739) mounted on black horse, wearing dark blue coat, tricorn hat and long black boots. Horse and rider travelling to right, Turpin turning his head over right shoulder to face forward; holds reins in left hand and gun in right. "DICK TURPIN" painted in raised black letters on base above line of gilt. Nineteenth century.
