Summary description
Oil painting on canvas, Mrs Hammerton, British (English) School, circa 1850/60. A three-quarter-length portait of a middle-aged lady, great aunt of the donor of the painting, Miss W.B. Walker, dressed in black with lace collar, headband and cuffs and a red ribbon around her neck,seated, looking to the right with her arm on a table covered with a red cloth beside a vase of flowers. She has flowers in hair, including fuschias and holds a fuschia in her left hand; a wedding ring on her left hand.
