Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Valentine Snow (1685-1759), manner of Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743). A three-quarter-length portrait, three-quarter face, looking towards his right. Wearing a tricorne hat with gold braid, a red, gold and blue striped coat, with blue waistcoat trimmed with braid. A sword belt at his waist, with the hilt and foil visible bottom right. His left hand is on his hip, and his right hand holds a silver trumpet to his lips which is adorned with a blue, pink and white silk rope, with two tassels in the same colours.
