Oil painting on panel, Moonlit Landscape with Gothic Ruin by Sebastian Pether (1790 – Battersea 1844), 1810-44, signed S.Pether. A landscape, the moon reflected in water, a Gothic ruin, a weir and figures in the middle ground.
Consigned to Christie's in May 1922 by a J. Osborne but not put into a sale; bequeathed by Katherine Salting, Lady Binning (1871-1952) to the National Trust as part of the contents of Fenton House.
