A rectangular pianoforte by Christopher Ganer, late 18th century/early 19th century. Compass FF-f3 chromatic, two strings to each note, two stop levers. Signed over the keys 'CHRISTOPHER GANER MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MAKER, No.47 BROAD STREET, GOLDEN SQUARE'. Ivory naturals, with boxwood moulded fronts, ebony accidentals, case of cross-banded mahogany with decorated maplewood over the keys. Original stand with four tapering legs contains shelf for music.
