Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Oil painting on canvas, Richard William Alan Onslow, 5th Earl of Onslow (1876-1945) by Philip Alexius de László de Lombos (Budapest 1869 – London 1937). Half-length portrait, standing, facing, gaze slightly to the left, his left arm leaning on a plinth and his left hand holding his gloves. Wearing uniform with orders under black coat with red lining. Green drape to the right.
Provenance
Marked in Lady Iveagh’s 1966 Inventory, p 18. Purchased by the Department of Environment in 1975 from the 7th Earl, Transferred to the National Trust in 1977.
