A full-length portrait, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, seated in a chair, his left hand on the chair rest and his right hand on an open book on a table to the left, three other books are placed on another table to the left. Long brown wig, brown robe, white falling collar. Large drape to the right. Heir to his father in law, Lord Mayor Foote, 1st Baronet.
acquired by the Ministry of Works from Gwendolen, Countess of Iveagh, in 1956, and transferred to the National Trust by H.M. Treasury in 1977
