Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Margaret Willmer, Lady Beachcroft (d.1727) , British (English) School, circa 1700-1720. A three-quarter-length portrait of a mature woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, seated, her left arm resting on a table covered in a Turkish carpet, her right arm by her side, wearing an ivory satin dress with a blue cloak worn over both shoulders. The landscape background is virtually invisible except for an orange tree with two fruit on the left.

Pensax Court, Worcs.; by descent to Prof T. H. Clutton-Brock, by whom lent to his cousin Alan Clutton-Brock at Chastelton; bought by NHMF in 1991. Probably no.11 on 'Clutton portraits' list.
