Summary
Oil painting on panel, The Entombment, Flemish School, 16th century. The body of Christ is borne from behind by the Virgin and John the Evangelist, and is being lowered into the tomb. The Magdalen kneels at right, kissing Christ's left arm. In the background at upper left the hill of Calvary, with the foot of the Cross and the ladder used in the Deposition. In the distance at right, a landscape with fortification. A provincial work, apparently always of this size and format.
