Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sarah Smith, Mrs Henry III Jones (1646/7-1687), British (English) School, circa 1660-1665. A half-length portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, her right hand to her breast, shoulder-length frizzed light brown hair, wearing a low-cut white bodice and blue dress pinned at her left shoulder with a jewel. Pear-shaped earrings, single-strand pearl necklace. Dark background to the right, distant sunset horizon to the left.
