Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Dr Henry II Jones (1622/3-1694/5) as Chancellor of Bristol, style of John Riley (London 1646 – London 1691). A three-quarter-length portrait of a mature man, the third son of Henry Jones and Anne Fettiplace, standing, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in a long wig and wearing dark robes with lace cuffs and cravat and gilt buttons; holds rolled document in right hand. Column base and sky behind him to the right. He became Chancellor of the Diocese of Bristol in 1669, in succession to Gilbert Jones, his uncle.
