Summary
Commode. A transitional marquetry commode, probably Dutch, of two drawers and a grey marble top (cracked, repaired and filled). The central panel is inlaid with a musical trophy, the escutcheon cast from that on a separate Macret commode, the apron mount cast from that on a Criard commode. Both mounts are 19th century English. (Hugh Routh, conservator, noted in August 2017 that the top was pink jasper (as described under 1420119), and not grey marble.)
