Caption
The sitter was the father of Marianne Wyndham (1804-42), who married the Rev. Cremer Cremer (1795-1867). Their grandson, Wyndham Cremer Cremer (1870-1933) was to inherit Felbrigg, where this portrait still hangs. Although put in an eighteenth century frame, this picture appears to be a later pastiche, done from a miniature in the collection of c.1770/80.
