Summary
Oil painting on panel, Beeston Regis from the 'Roman Camp', by Robert Ladbrooke (Norwich 1770 – Norwich 1842), label on back: 'Ladbroke pinxit'. Painted from a sketch done on the spot. Although not totally accurate, it shows the churches of Beeston and Runton in the distance, with a man at right foreground, and ships in the far distance. Clouds gathering in the sky. Note on back by RWKC regarding composition and artistic licence.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
