Caption
According to tradition, the sitter was the illegitimate son of Admiral Lukin (1768-1833), who inherited Felbrigg. He was known as ‘Captain’ Windham, though he only held a post in the Coastguards.

An oil painting on canvas of Henry Windham,;British (English) School. A half-length portrait of a young man, in uniform, turned slightly to the left, gazing to the right. An (illegtimate?) son of Admiral Lukin, and known as 'Captain' Windham, though he only held a post in the Coastguards.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
