An oak dole gate of the Convent of Denny of which Elizabeth Throckmorton was the last abbess in 1559, the panel fitted with two doors with inscriptions. 16th century. A label pasted to the front of the dole gate reads as follows: 'The carved piece of oak annexed to this was given to me by Miss Hamper[?] of Kings Heath near Birmingham, who procured it from the Revd Mr Burrows of Ombersley who found it at a cottage in that neighbourhood about the year 1830. In[?] a description of it [...] a letter from Dr Pattington[?] of Bewdley inserted in Dugdale's Warwickshire in my possession page 500[?]. Charles Throckmorton, Coughton Court, January 1891[?]'
