Summary
Hat - Made from plaited wide chip that is covered on the top with fawn paper and underneath with cream. This is covered with blue/black silk and lined with cream silk gauze. The hat is trimmed with blue and cream ribbon box pleated around the brim and in puffs around the top and bottom of the crown, also over the top of the hat and extending into ties loops to form a false bow when attached with flattened brass hook and steel eye. There are later additions of a black velvet ribbon around the brim and black machine made lace under the brim. (female)
