Summary
Dress; Spencer - Woman's spencer (dress) dating from c1810-1820. Fabric - Yellow-brown cotton (Holland). Lining - Unlined. Round neck with curved flat collar. Bodice fronts bias cut with 1 bust dart each side. 'Diamond' shaped centre-back panel. Short frill centre-back, curved and pleated sleeves, very long, with tucks into the head, narrowing towards wrist. Plain turn-back cuff. 2 belt pieces attached either side of centre-back. Trimmings - 2 matching silk and cord tassels centre-back. Fastenings - Linen tape ties attached inside back at waist. Linen tape drawstring along waist at front only.
