Summary
Dress; Spencer - Woman's spencer (dress) dating from c1820. Fabric - Lichen green silk taffeta. Lining Lined throughout with cream silk (missing from left sleeve). Round neck with stand-fall collar (unstiffened) slightly low shoulder. Fronts and back cut on the straight of the fabric and gathered into waistband - extends from left side to fasten at right hand side short frill with piped edge below front of belt. Long sleeves with piped and puffed oversleeve, narrow piped cuff. Band of 4 rows piping fastens round wrist, above cuff. Fastenings - Blue silk braid drawstring at neck. 1 brass hook on collar (eye missing). Brass hook and eye on belt (hook missing). Small self-covered button at wrist with buttonhole loop.
