Summary
Pelerine - Woman's pelerine or mantle dating from 1830-1840. Fabric - Blue-black silk taffeta. Lining - Matching silk of softer texture. Interlining of combed wool invisibly stitched to lining. Cut - Cut of one flat piece of fabric. Hip length with long hanging ends in front. Wide cape collar. Inside edge quilted. Trimmings - Folded band of matching blue silk velvet ribbon round edges.
