Summary
Jacket; Caraco - Cotton. Block printed with dense pattern of flowers and stems. Reds and blues on white. Starched. Poor quality print. Mostly lined with linen with a brown woven stripe. Lower part of sleeve lined with tartan woven linen (white and blue). Thigh length with fitted bodice and flared skirt, without waist seam. Very low scooped neckline, edge to edge fastening. 'V' neck at back. Skirt double box pleated into side and centre back seams at waistline. Sleeves very long and narrow, surved at elbow. Cut in one with bodice at back. Long opening at wrist. No trimmings. 6 metal hooks and eyes on bodice front (later addition). Sleeves extended from elbow. Front panels of skirt replaced with similar fabric Possibly Dutch.
