Summary
Jacket; Half robe - Cotton, block printed with small trefoil and floral sprigs in purple, green and black on white. Bodice and sleeves lined bleached cotton. High wiasted, straight, square, gathered at neck and waist. Underarm seam. Scooped neck at back. Back shaped with 2 piped seams curving from armhole to centre back. Skirt straight in front, pleated towards centre back and triple inverted pleat for extra fullness. Set in sleeve gathered at head. Long, widenign to wrist. Lining extends from bodice to form separate underbodice. 3 silk worked buttons centre-back. Drawstring ties at neck of bodice and under bodice. 2 hooks and eyes on underbodice. 4 flat brass eyes inside waist (added later). Cf Nancy Bradfield 'Costume in Detail' p.83-84 (undress) (female)
