Summary
Dress; Closed robe - Block printed and pencilled cotton. Floral trail on background of pinpoint with voided areas of small leaves. Background hydrangea pink, outline black, flowers, stems and pin dots of madder and steel blue, small leaves of fawn, yellow and green pencilled. Blue thread in selvedge. Bodice and sleeves lined with unbleached linen. Bodice edge to edge, front lappets below waist. Low, wide neckline. No underarm seam. Straight waist. Back seamed at centre and side back. Shoulder pieces widen toward back to meet side back seam (each piece made up with lining and oversewn together). Sleeves - 2 tucks at head, broad, straight to elbow, edge bound. Skirt 5 widths. Apron-front. Gathered all round. Slightly trained. No trimmings. No fastenings. At one time pointed back waist - cut to make straight, higher waistline. Fabric similar to SNO.TC.31.
