Summary
Dress; Open robe - Cream silk with narrow ribbon stripes in strawberry pink, green and black ground pattern of scattered flower sprays. Bodice and sleeves lined with bleached linen (faced with wool with 2 blue threads in selvedge). Hem faced with wilk with woven stripes in blue and brown. Bodice fitted. Edge to edge opening, square neck, lappets below waist. Underarm seam. Back en fourreau with pleats facing centre back. Sleeves - 3 darts at head. Strips run round sleeve. Narrow, darted to follow elbow, edge bound. Skirt 5 plus 2 half widths of fabric. Centre section cut with bodice, the rest very closely knife-pleated to side front bodice. All pleats face back. 2 pocket slits. Slightly longer at the back. 2 crescent shaped hip pads at waist of glazed cotton stuffed with wool. No trimmings. Evidence of pinning on bodice.
