Summary
Chinese wooden sundial with compass. Sundial part hinges up, with metal support behind. Gnomen is a needle which pivots up. In non-hinged part, a compass with wire needle. Both surrounded with a random pattern and some Chinese characters. Characters also on the underside. In notebook no.6, page 19 (1340945.6) Charles Wade refers to: 'The Blue Room 75. Chinese Pocket Sundial of wood.' Includes sketch.
