Summary
Carved, wooden, figure of a deity seated in the lotus position. Glass beads as jewels, one in hair and one in centre of forehead. Long robe, open at chest. Hands in lap. On a wooden base in the form of an elaborate lotus, bottom part painted red, upper parts gold. In notebook no.6, page 20 (1340945.6) Charles Wade refers to: 'The Blue Room 79. Seated Figure of Carved Wood –elaborate gold robe. 9 ½” high.'. After investigation comparing glass negative 1329671 to statue, the hand has been repaired in the wrong position at some time.
