Summary
Black and white landscape photograph, printed on a postcard. Printed in white on left '4718'. Printed on reverse, 'Post Card' and above two columns 'Correspondence' and 'Address', and to one side 'A. Barratt, press Photographer, 8, Salisbury Court, Fleet St., London', and handwritten in pencil 'Empire Fair Pageant 1911'. Picture is of a group of people dressed in historical costume walking across a field under a canopy held by four of the group. In the background, a seated crowd of spectators and a marquee. The Pageant was held at Hampstead Garden Suburb, put on by the "Theoric Committee", predecessor of the Garden Suburb Theatre and was written by Kate Murray (source: Hampstead Garden Suburb Theatre archives via Colin Gregory).
