Summary
Koto, (13 string board zither), (small - ) Japanese. . Wooden board with ebony ends inlaid with ivory and coloured woods.One end has a pierced heart decoration in the ebony, where the strings pass over, then go into a hole on the back. At the other end, an inlaid gold and green painted panel, below ivory grommets(one missing) for the strings to pass through. Urn shaped sound hole in back. Strings and frets have been replaced.
