Summary
An elm and birch box-seat wing armchair, English, circa 1780. With shaped wings and toprail, panelled back and flattened armrests, the panelled box-seat with removable roped seat, originally on rockers, now set on wheels with painted red rings and secured by tapered cotters. CPW Item 2 'High-backed winged armchair. Box under seat on four oak wheels, originally on rockers. Fr Ipswich'.

Bought in Ipswich, Suffolk. Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
