A view of six tall elm trees in full leaf with a hedgrow below to the left and a furrowed field in the foreground. The trees are set against a grey-white cloudy sky. The effect of sunlight from the right is observed and the shadows of the tree trunks fall across the field at the far right. The paint is loosely and thickly applied and the style is impressionistic.
