Summary
Oil painting on parchment, Benjamin Peters of Cullompton, Devon, British (English) School, mid 18th century. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a corpulent, middle-aged man, his head turned slightly towards the right. He wears a white, mid-length wig, a brown coat with black waistcoat and a white cravat at the neck. He is set against a dark brown background. He was brother-in-law to Reverend John Walrond (d. 1769) who was grandfather of Mary Parminter of A La Ronde and was mentioned in John Walrond's will, National Archives Prob 11/498. Original Parminter item, in an undated letter held by Devon and Cornwall record society the Reverend Reichel wrote that he owned this item.
