Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Drunken Silenus supported by Satyrs, workshop of Sir Peter Paul Rubens (Seigen 1577 - Antwerp 1640). The present painting is associated with Drunken Silenus supported by Satyrs attributed to Van Dyck of circa 1620 and now in the collection of the National Gallery in London (NG853), thought to have been executed in Rubens' studio with the sky and landscape probably by Jan Wildens and the foliage and fruit by Frans Snyders and the design of the figures may have been executed by possibly Van Dyck, and then reworked by Rubens himself. The composition derives in part from a work of a similar subject by Rubens, 'The March of Silenus' in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich.
