Full description
High quality Caucasian miquelet lock pistol, the silver furniture dated 1875. Round iron barrel, chiselled at the breech with foliate designs. Inscribed LIZARINO. The barrel tang, decorated with nielloed silver, extends from the barrel breech to the ball butt and is retained by 2 screws from the underside of the grip. The barrel is retained to the stock by 2 silver nielloed barrel bands and a muzzle sheath, each stamped with the Silver Standard mark 84, a shield mark of St George (Moscow?) and assayers initials E.b (possibly Egor Egor Ivanovich Bliumberg?) together with the date 1875. Barrel length 46.7 cm. Calibre 13 mm. Wooden full stock with hook shaped grip inlaid with 2 rows of bone dots. One-piece walrus ivory ball butt with a nielloed silver hemispherical cap. Nielloed silver sideplate. Horn fore-end cap. Button form trigger. Silver Damascened miquelet lock, the cock with long jaws and a ring-headed jaw screw. Serrated frizzen with a square-top. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails. Overall length: 61.5cm.
