Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Anthea Loveday Veronica Mander, Mrs Lahr (1945 - 2004), as a child by Marjorie Mostyn (Hertfordshire 1893-1979), signed "M. Mostyn", circa 1950. A head-and-shoulders portrait of Anthea Mander as a child, aged about 5, wearing a blue dress with matching ribbon in her hair. She was the daughter of Sir Geoffrey Mander and his second wife Rosalie Glynn Grylls.
Provenance
Sir Geoffrey and Lady Mander: commissioned from the artist (possibly because of the Cornish connection - Lady Mander was proud of her Cornish ancestry, and the Manders spent holidays in Cornwall); transferred to the National Trust on the death of Sir Geoffrey Le Mesurier Mander (1882-1962)
