Summary
Plaster cast of a procession led by a woman with a lyre, followed by two women with staffs. The cast is from an ancient marble relief showing the procession of the gods (Apollo, Diana, and Latona) to the sanctuary of Nike, the goddess of victory.
Full description
From the marble relief, "Procession of the Gods" (c. 30-20 BC), originally in the collection of the Villa Albani in Rome. It has been altered to show three women in procession to an altar with an indistinct god, possibly mercury,on the top. It is in worse condition than the cast of the same scene on the opposite wall of the Orangery in Knole (NT. 128679).
