Summary
Stand; Inkstand - one of a pair of Chinese 'famille rose' rectangular inkstands, porcelain the rectangular stepped stand is fitted with a hinged cover to hold pens, along with a fixed octagonal candle holder. Painted in 'famille-rose' enamels with insects and flowering plants issuing from rockwork, within a band of gold scrollwork on iron-red outlines, the ends painted with puce monochrome landscapes, China, Jingdezhen, decorated in Guangzhou (Canton), circa 1745.
