Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sleeping (Christ) Child, after Guido Reni (Bologna 1575 – Bologna 1642). A naked child, full length, lies on a draped couch, head to left, resting on the wrist of his right hand which is raised under his cheek, his right leg tucked under the left, his left arm lying along the top contour of his body, drape descending on left.

First recorded 1835; bequeathed by (Henry John) Ralph Bankes (1902 – 1981) together with the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy and its entire contents
