Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady, British School, late 19th century. A half-length portrait, turned to left, her head to the right; wearing a white dress, and a white lace bonnet with a bow at the top and tied with a bow under the chin and a white dress. Comparison with photographs in the collection shows she bears some semblance to Hilary Margaret Strickland-Constable, Mrs Henry John Ralph Bankes, or Henrietta Jenny Fraser, Mrs Walter Ralph Bankes.
