Summary
Oil painting on canvas (grisaille), Putti enacting an Allegory of Summer by Jacob de Wit (Amsterdam 1695 – Amsterdam 1754), 1739. Five full-length, naked putti on a plinth piled high with produce: left putti has a sickle, the two in front are holding and stacking the produce, the right hand putti holds a flail and the putti at the rear with his back turned to the spectator has his hands on sheaves of corn.
