Full description
Lord Greville has a full beard; he is wearing a suit, a wing collared shirt and tie. The photograph is signed 'Greville'. There is a tissue cover that is attached on the reverse top edge to fall over the image. Algernon was the son of Fulke Southwell Greville-Nugent, 1st Baron Greville of Clonyn and Lady Rosa Emily Mary Anne Nugent. He was a Captain in the 1st Life Guards, as was his son, Ronald. In 1863 Lady Beatrice 'Violet' Graham. They had four children, two daughters, Hon. Ronald, his eldest son and Charles. Algernon was a liberal MP for County Westmeath, 1865 - 1874, Groom in Waiting to Queen Victoria, 1868 - 1873, and Lord of the Treasury, 1873 - 1874. He became 2nd baron Greville of Clonyn. Co. in 1883. He was Ronald Greville's father and Margaret Greville's father-in-law. He was a guest at Polesden Lacey on 5th December 1907. Ronald predeceased his father, so his younger brother, Charles, inherited the title.
