One of three Flemish tapestries with the story of Aeneas. c. 1700. Dido Queen of Carthage has been abandoned by her lover Aeneas. She is shown seated in a wood. The scene is bordered by fruit and flowers on tobacco coloured ground. Warp count 7/8 per cm
