Summary
A George II mahogany longcase clock, by Robert Mawley, London; arched dial with chiming dial (eight bells and St Mary's Cambridge chimes), three-train movement with silvered chapter ring and gilt scroll spandrels; arched hood with columns and brass finials and rococo panel; arched waist door, and fluted cantings with brass.
Provenance
The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943. This item found on the record for Polesden Lacey Landing and Balcony, page 36.
