Oil painting on canvas, Beatrice Elizabeth Cowx, Lady Armstrong (1862-1934) by George Harcourt RA (Dumbarton 1868 – Bushey 1947), signed and dated, bottom left: George Harcourt 1928. A three-quarter-length portrait of the second wife of William Watson-Armstrong, 1st Lord Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside, seated and turned to the right, facing the viewer, in front of a tapestry with a fur-lined cloak over the back of her chair.

Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
