Oil painting on panel, An Unknown Young Gentleman, British (English) School, circa 1770/75. An oval head-and-shoulders portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a dark coat, white shirt with frilled front. Inscribed in pencil on the back with the name of a house.

Provenance

Accepted in lieu of tax by HM Treasury and transferred to the National Trust in 1995
