Summary
Eight-day longcase clock signed 'GASKIN' on the dial. Plain white painted dial with Roman hour numerals, strike/silent lever at the twelve o'clock position and black painted hands. Two-train four knopped-pillar movement with anchor recoil escapement and rack-striking on a bell. Unusual pear-shaped cast iron weights. Richly coloured case with ebonised ball finial, serpentine cresting, reeded angled corners to the hood, shaped top to the trunk door flanked by similar canted corners, and plain plinth with arched apron.
