A set of six marquetry inlaid walnut chairs, Dutch, circa 1730-40. Each with a red velvet drop-in seat and inlaid with floral marquetry, with a solid vase shaped splat back and raised on cabriole legs. Originally part of a larger set, the six seats are individually marked with Roman numerals I;IIII;V;VI;VII;VIII.
Bequest of chairs by Mrs Kemball to Beningbrough Hall in 1990.
